Sitting up and smiling!

The other night, I decided that I had some surprises to show mom and dad. They had put me to bed but I was too excited to wait until morning to share with them...so I convinced my mom that I wasn't really ready for bed yet. (She's a sucker and I can get her to fall for just about anything...let me show you how I do it.)

Look mom...no hands :)

See I told you this was worth getting me out of bed for...you just wait till you see what else I've got for you.

Ha! Bedtime...I laugh at the word bedtime! I told you this was going to the good. I knew she couldn't resist this face. Seriously, how could anyone?

A Sunday Visit

Auntie Erin and Uncle Kevin stopped at Grandma's house for a quick visit on their drive back to Chicago after a wedding....First, they sat me down and reminded me that I could NOT sit on my cousin. Aparently it's not ok to wrestle with girls. Whatever...she's not a girl, she's my cousin. I guess I'm supposed to be nice to her.

So instead...I wrestled my dad. I believe that this is what is called a pin. (I must admit I had a little bit of an advantage...he was sleeping on the living room floor...serves him right for napping. That's my job).
After that...they gave me this cool toy with lots of "lifesavers." However, this one was not as sweet as it looks on the commericals.
Hey...this isn't a really lifesaver! Come on people....stop trying to trick me!

Again with the tricks...I got to sit in the same high chair that my mom and her siblings use to sit in. However....
While they were eating burgers off the grill and other yummy picnic foods, I got stuck with this water filled butterfly. Seriously, people...what is your deal?!?!

I'd say, overall, the day was a hair-raising experience.

All in a days work...

Mommy bought me this great new toy, a circus themed exersaucer. She took lots of time to show me all the things that I could play with while I was visiting the circus.
My friend Jane taught me about cotton candy and how you can get it at the circus. This looks like the right spot to try to get some.

What!?!?!? You mean to tell me that this is a pretend circus and there is NO cotton candy! You know how to mess with a baby's head.

I suppose that it's ok...I wouldn't want to ruin my fantastic grin....it would be a terrible thing to have a toothless grin for that reason.

I got to ride in my new big boy car seat. Mommy and grandma shopped ALL day for it...and I do mean all day. I still have to face the back to stay the safest. I must say that I do like the view from back here.

Relaxing...all after a hard days work.

Meet me in St. Louis

Quinn braved a trip to St. Louis with me and my mom for a tour with the Badger State Girl Choir. He was a trooper. 8 hours on a bus, long days, strange naps, sight seeing, singing...and only one time of real crying! He is a champ! The only bad part was that his daddy was not able to skip baseball to join us in our adventure.

We went to the St. Louis zoo...

We went to the Mark Twain caves in Hannibal, Il.

..and tried on funny hats before walking 250 feet below the ground to wind through the caves...

And it would not have been complete without a trip up inside the St. Louis Arch. How many babies do you know that have been 250 feet into the Earth and 60 stories above the Earth all in 4 days.

What's that orange thing in my closet, mom?

Which way to the pool? Do you think I look buff in this swim diaper?

So you say it's like a giant bath tub....do other babies accidentally pee in the giant bath tub just like the regular bath tub like I sometime accidentally do? If so...I don't think I'm interested in going swimming.

Dad, why is it so foggy in here?

Do you want to see me do my front float?

How about my back float?

Swimming is not so bad. I didn't really even mind when my mom dunked me. It was strangely familiar but I can put my finger on why.

To bad Mr. Scheulke isn't coaching swimming anymore. I know he'd be impressed with my skills. He even gave me this super cool suit to get me off to a great start. It's a good thing that baseball and swimming aren't in the same season.

My first LONG road trip.

Mommy, Grandma Golden and I went to visit Aunt Roxann and Uncle Jerry, Aunt Rhynda and Uncle Bob, and Great Grandma Golden. It is a 4 hour drive for grown ups....and longer with me. But I was a trooper and made the trip up easily....The way home was a different story. I'll spare you the details of that...don't want to taint my image of being a very aggreeable kid. Here's how the day played out.

I spent a lot of time with my Aunt Roxann playing with my friend Pouffette. Lots of snuggles and laughs. And let me be the first to tell you that Uncle Jerry has some very entertaining hands!
After playing with Pouffette, I worked up quite an appetite. I knew that my mom would say no, so I asked Great Grandma if I could have some of her world famous doughnuts instead. I thought I could play the cute card and get a treat.

Unfortunately, I got busted by my mom.
"No mommy, I would never try to sneak doughnuts between meals.
I promise. Only milk for me."

My mom wasn't convinced so she tried to sniff me out...she is developing a sense of smell like her mom. I'm really hoping she hasn't perfected that skill yet.

After flying under my mom's super sniffing radar....I thought I'd try again. Maybe Aunt Rhynda would help me devise a plan. Hopefully this time no one will be the wiser and "falsely" accuse me of sneaking doughnuts.

Ooooh. I think I see my chance coming.

Here I go...I think that I can snatch one!.....

Success....I got one! After sneaking my treat into my tummy. I had my first conversation with Uncle Bob. "No way, Uncle Bob! I like Star Trek too!!!" I think I'm going to fit in really well around here.

Push ups!!!

Ninty-nine...
One Hundred....

What a workout! Mom...will you make me a protein shake?
