Happy Halloween

Anyone for a little pumpkin? I hear this one makes great pies. They turn out extra sweet.

urrr....maybe we didn't choose the right costume.

Mom and Dad took me trick or treating...well sort of. They don't let me have any candy. Aparently it's not great for my teeth or my waistline. However, we did make several stops. First I got some granola bars from Grandpa Golden. Our next stop was to Miss Sue's office. Boy was she surprised. Some lady there gave me some cheese puffs (dad ate those). I was the talk of the hospital. I guess they don't see many walking pumpkins around there. Then I went to Grandma Golden's office. I was hoping that she would parade me around to show me off....but they have security procedures so no parade. Then we headed down to see Grandma and Grandpa Gutzman. While we were there, we made a special stop at Great Grandma and Grandpa West's place. I got some animal crackers there. Anyone for a lion????

My first race

Mommy and Daddy ran in the first annual Patriot March during Appleton East's homecoming week (Don't tell mom's kids at West....rivalry you know). There was a fun run for kids. I was a couple months shy of the youngest age...but no one was checking IDs. So I ran it anyway.

Like my mom, I get very nervous before races. It didn't help that the Patriot mascot was running around with his big plastic head. Come on creeper....go over by the 12 year olds not the toddlers.

Mom got me set at the start line.

Like every good runner...sometimes there is some pain along the way and a few diggers. If you look closely, you'll notice the half smushed peanut butter sandwich in my hand...a common pain reliever among the elite running community. Just ask a Kenyan.

Focused on the finish!

Charging into the shoot. Daddy's waiting with my recover PB sandwich.

Down on the farm

Grandma Golden, Mommy and I took a trip to my Great Grandma Golden's farm. I behaved myself beautifully with almost no sleep. Nothing a few animal crackers can solve when you're in a pinch.

It was a great day for touring the farm buildings. We looked at the barn, the corb crib and all the rest.

I got to check out some heavy equipment because trucks, tractors, and diggers are my favorite things.

Grandpa drove the tractor out for us and took us for a little spin around the yard.

What's a trip to the farm without animals? Sue, Grandma and I walked across the street to check out the horses. Sue showed me how to feed a horse an apple while keeping all your fingers. I, however, was not about to stink my little fingers anywhere near those horses.
Here is where my cow obsession began.

I almost got to drink milk from the bulk tank. Grandpa says there's nothing better.

We picked the last of Great Grandma's apples before the frost.

And had lots of snack in the kitchen.

Mommy wasn't paying any attention when she was getting us ready that morning. She really regrets not packing our bibs so we could be just like Grandpa. What a photo opp....me, mom, and grandpa...all in our bibs at the farm.

Dr. Bouressa is going to love me

I don't know about most toddlers, but the one that lives with us loves to brush his teeth. He'll walk into the bathroom and grab his toothbrush (and mine) and wander around brushing his teeth. He went through a phase where taking the toothbrush away and putting it away was the WORST thing in the world. We are past that now. Quinn will easily put them back in the drawer and close it when told to do so.

One morning while getting dressed for school, I was taking care of some things. I returned to our room to this sight.

The kid loves to brush.

Our first construction project

Mom and Dad decided that they wanted to get our patio taken care of. It was a big mess before. So they invited this super nice guy to come and work on it....Vosters Custom Brick Pavers. Mom and Dad liked him because he was nice, professional and of course affordable. But I liked him because he let me take a good look at his big truck and his bobcat.

He removed the cement block and filled it in all in one day...by himself. He must have to pretty tough equipment and some big muscles for all that heavy lifting.

Here is what it looked like after just 2.5 days. He even jacked up our air conditioner out of the goodness of his heart because he noticed it was sinking.

Daddy and I took some time to check things out.

This is the face of one satisfied customer. Can't wait to see what it will look like next summer with plants and flowers. We'll see what my expert landscaper grandpa comes up with for that.
