Caddy Shack

I was digging in the yard helping my Dad prepare the soil and plant some new grass seed. He said I reminded him of the guy in Caddy Shack, although he probably says a lot of word that I'm not allowed to say.

Egg-cellent....

Grandma was kind enough to share some shirts with Raegan and I so we could fully dive into our creative sides. A true artist is never concerned with making a mess.

I was definitely more into painting on paper. My mom, on the other hand, was obsessed with trying to create the loudest, most vibrant colored eggs.

No pastels here.

Bugs

Generally, bugs crawling on people is frowned upon. However, in this case bring on the ladybugs.

Happy Birthday!

Today is Good Friday and I have the day off of school. Quinn miraculously slept until 7:44. For some reason, I decided that we should enjoy our morning of sleeping in (this hasn't happened in over two years since 5:45-6:15 is his normal waking). We turned on the TV, grabbed a blanket and low and behold found ourselves some Seasame Street. This particular scene was about birthdays.

After watching for a few minutes, the following conversation took place.

Quinn: I love birthdays!
Mommy: Oh, you do?
Quinn: Yah, I eat 'em.

What is Quinn up to now...

We, though biased, think that Quinn is quite a spectacular boy. He is a sports buff. He can shoot hoops, hit a baseball off a tee and throw a decent spiral with a football. He is able to identify both capital and lower case letters and tell you their sounds. He know the words to every song I taught to my kindergarteners through 3rd graders last year in addition to the tradition toddler songs like "The farmer in the dell," "twinkle twinkle little star," "ABCs," and many more. On the most extreme end, he can "sing" all three verses of "Away in a Manger." Every night at bedtime, we read books, sing and snuggle. He loves to read books. We've started taking frequent trips to the library. The first time we returned books, he was not happy to give them back. As soon as he understood that we were going to get "new" books, he was more than happy to slip each book throught the slot in the wall. He loves his library books.

Baseball continues to be a must in life. Now that it's baseball season, Quinn gets to go to practice almost everyday for a little while until I can get there after school to pick him up. He comes home and runs, stretches, and practices all the skills that he sees the boys working on. Daddy loves to have him at the field and the boys seem to like him too.

Two hands on the wheel...

At our most recent visit with Aunt Amy at Monkey Joe's, Quinn was not at all interested in jumping around. He wanted to play with the cars. After an hour and half warm up period, he was finally ready to enjoy himself on the play equipment. He spent a lot of his time driving the jeep and texting a couple of his friends.
